Adyghe State University has successfully secured funding in the fourth round of grants from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science for science popularization initiatives. The project "Science Around. Season Three" was awarded 26 million rubles.
The competition was conducted as part of the federal initiative "Popularization of Science and Technology." A total of 183 applications were submitted from various regions across Russia, with 39 projects ultimately receiving funding.
Since 2024, the university has actively implemented the "Science Around" project. In 2025, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the initiative was expanded into "Science Around. Discoveries Continue," as part of the Decade of Science and Technology. By the end of 2025, the number of participants had nearly doubled, and the variety of engagement formats was significantly broadened.
Throughout its implementation, the project has garnered recognition from the professional community. It was awarded the title of the best educational project in Adygea at the Knowledge Award, placed among the top three finalists in the 11th All-Russian Prize "For Fidelity to Science" in the "Science for Children" category, and was shortlisted for the 2024 Runet Prize in the "Children's Runet and Family Values" category.
The objective of the "Science Around. Third Season" project is to foster an environment that enhances schoolchildren's receptivity to innovation and scientific achievements. It aims to cultivate interest in Russian science through engaging formats that align with current generational media consumption patterns.
By 2026, the initiative is expected to reach at least 80 regions across the Russian Federation. Planned activities include science festivals at the Orlyonok and Smena All-Russian Children's Centers, a series of street theater festivals in small towns, the recording of the podcast "What Academicians Talk About" featuring members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the expansion of the media library with video lectures, as well as the organization of a nationwide interdisciplinary online quiz titled "Russia Decides!" and a Family Mathematical Olympiad.
The project launches on May 31 and is scheduled to conclude in December. Stay updated on the progress of "Science Around. Season Three" through the official channels.
