Kazbek Sagidovich Mamiy was born on April 12, 1935, in the village of Shabanokhabl, located in the Teuchezhsky District of the Adyghe Autonomous Region within Krasnodar Territory. In 1952, he enrolled in the Mechanics and Mathematics Department of Rostov State University, from which he graduated in 1957. His scientific career began during his third year of studies under the guidance of the renowned mathematician Yu.F. Korobeynik. Kazbek Sagidovich's diploma thesis focused on solving the Cauchy problem for a third-order operator equation in a Hilbert space using the Fourier method.

The work was highly appreciated by the state examination committee, and as a result of his successful defense, Kazbek Sagidovich was recommended for postgraduate study at the V.A. Steklov Mathematical Institute of the USSR Academy of Sciences. However, recognizing the urgent need for qualified scientific personnel in his native Adygea, he chose to return to work at the physics and mathematics department of the only university in the region at that time—the Adygea State Pedagogical Institute (ASPI).

From 1957 to 1962, he served as an assistant in the Department of Mathematics at ASPI. Between 1962 and 1965, Kazbek Sagidovich pursued his studies in the graduate school of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. His scientific supervisor was the renowned mathematician and founder of the Moscow Mathematical School for the Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, Professor V.V. Nemytsky.

In 1966, Kazbek Sagidovich defended his candidate's dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. This dissertation addressed significant problems with applications in mathematical physics. The results of his research were published in leading scientific journals with high prestige worldwide.

After defending his dissertation and returning to his native institute, Kazbek Sagidovich embarked on an active scientific and pedagogical career, delivering lectures and conducting seminars at a high scientific and methodological level. He also organized the first scientific research seminar in Adygea focused on the qualitative theory of differential equations, which attracted a diverse group of students under his guidance.

Kazbek Sagidovich's seminar served as a launching pad for many of his students into the realm of science. Under his mentorship, they prepared for and successfully entered graduate programs at leading scientific centers in Tbilisi, Minsk, St. Petersburg, and Moscow.

Kazbek Mamiy, in various years, regularly presented scientific reports at All-Union and regional scientific conferences held across different cities of the former Soviet Union. He was a tireless worker in the field of mathematics and made a significant contribution to the formation and development of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty (which became the Mathematics Faculty in 1988, and subsequently the Mathematics and Computer Science Faculty in 2000). In 1969, he founded the Department of Mathematical Analysis at our university and served as its first head. Under his leadership, the department was established, personnel were selected, and a solid material base was created.

He was a pioneer in several areas: he was the first among the department's employees to defend his PhD thesis at Lomonosov Moscow State University, one of the initial leaders of the student scientific society at the faculty, and a consistent leader of the student research circle. He served as the first head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis for a decade and was the first to systematically engage in research on the methodology of teaching mathematical analysis at both the university and school levels, implementing his findings in practice.

Kazbek Mamiy devoted considerable effort and energy to advancing mathematical education in Adygea and Krasnodar Krai. Kazbek Sagidovich placed great emphasis on the training of highly qualified mathematics teachers. He actively collaborated with secondary school educators and regularly delivered lectures for them at the Institute for Advanced Teacher Training. As the head of the Department of Natural and Mathematical Disciplines at this institute, he traveled extensively, presenting his lectures to nearly all regional centers of the Republic of Adygea. His mathematics lectures, which he delivered to a broad audience of teachers and students, were highly acclaimed.

Kazbek Sagidovich did not limit his presentations to secondary school teachers in the Republic of Adygea; he also engaged with educators in Sochi, Armavir, Krasnodar, Stavropol, Rostov-on-Don, and Ulyanovsk.

Kazbek Sagidovich has written outstanding teaching aids on the fundamentals of modern mathematics and elements of mathematical analysis within the school mathematics curriculum. These aids have provided invaluable support to both students and teachers of secondary schools in understanding mathematical concepts and the methods of teaching them. Kazbek Mamiy's resources are in high demand in secondary schools across the Republic of Adygea and Krasnodar Krai.

In 1996, Kazbek Sagidovich was awarded the academic title of Professor in the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Methods of Teaching Mathematics.

Kazbek Mamiy is the author of over 50 publications, including scientific articles in prestigious journals published by central publishing houses, as well as educational and teaching aids. For his significant contributions to science and education, Mamiy was elected a full member of the Adyghe (Circassian) International Academy of Sciences (AMAN) and awarded the title of "Honored Scientist of the Republic of Adygea."

High professionalism, honesty, integrity, decency, loyalty to his profession, and modesty have earned Kazbek Sagidovich deep respect and affection not only from his colleagues at the university but also from students, teachers, and education workers in the Republic of Adygea and Krasnodar Krai. Kazbek Sagidovich served as a mentor and role model for several generations of mathematics teachers.

The vivid memory of this outstanding scientist and educator will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
