The training of social coordinators was discussed at Adyghe State University. The round table, dedicated to the issues of training future social coordinators to support participants and veterans of the Special Military Operation, as well as their family members, was attended by Yunus Namitokov, the deputy head of the branch of the State Fund for Support of Participants in the Special Military Operation "Defenders of the Fatherland" in the Republic of Adygea for social support; Irina Pestretsova, director of the Republican Center for Labor and Social Protection of the Population; Maria Paatova, head of the Department of Social Work and Tourism at ASU and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences; teachers and students from the Faculty of Social Technologies and Tourism at the Institute of Quality of Life of Adyghe State University; and representatives from social institutions.
The participants of the round table discussed current issues regarding the high-quality training of qualified personnel for the social sphere, with particular attention paid to the training of social coordinators.
In 2023, the curriculum of the updated educational program "Social Work" was enhanced with disciplines aimed at preparing students for effective professional and social activities in the training profile, which includes social coordinators—specialists of the State Fund for Support of Participants in the Special Military Operation "Defenders of the Fatherland."
-"Future social workers who perform the functions of a social coordinator need to acquire skills in organizing professional assistance based on the real needs and requirements of individuals. A specialist must be adept at working in non-standard situations, possess the ability to take responsibility, and work effectively within a team. Social coordinators must also be knowledgeable about the support measures offered by the state, be capable of providing psychological assistance, and be sociable and caring individuals,"- said Maria Paatova, head of the Department of Social Work and Tourism at ASU and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences.
