More Than 60 Schoolchildren Join the "Adygland" Ethnolinguistic School in Adygea

The "Adygland" (L'epk'ybze ejap1) ethnolinguistic school has opened at the "Mountain Legend" training and production facility of Adyghe State University. More than 60 students in grades 9–11 from the Republic of Adygea and the Khabezsky District of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic participated in the project. It is especially symbolic that the program opened on the Day of Languages of the Peoples of the Russian Federation, which is being celebrated in Russia for the first time this year.

The school was organized by Adyghe State University, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Adygea, and the Adygland project. Its goal is to create an environment for continuous communication in the Adyghe language through master classes on culture and traditions, educational case studies, and creative projects led by native speakers.

The unique feature of the shift is daily communication exclusively in the Adyghe language . According to the organizers' vision, the project aims to raise a generation capable of enriching contemporary culture and preserving their native language through its active use.

The educational program also includes meetings with cultural figures. The post-folk group "Myst" has already joined the participants , demonstrating a fusion of traditional motifs with contemporary sounds.

The school will continue until September 12. Based on its outcomes, a plan for future activities will be developed, and participants' best ideas will serve as the foundation for upcoming ethnolinguistic camp programs.

A literary evening dedicated to the memory of Iskhak Shumafovich Mashbash, the national writer of Adygea, will be held at the Mountain Legend camp. The organizers emphasize the enduring significance of his work for the preservation of the native language. A moment of silence will be observed before the readings.
