The 6th International Roundtable on "The Challenges of Foreigners Mastering Russian Phraseological Units" was successfully convened at Adyghe State University. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, combining both in-person and virtual participation.

The roundtable discussion was organized by the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language at ASU. Its primary objective was to analyze contemporary techniques and methodologies for teaching Russian phraseology to international students, including both undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, the event aimed to facilitate the exchange of best practices and to develop methodological recommendations for effective instruction of Russian phraseological units to foreign learners.

Participants were welcomed by Susanna Tlekhatuk, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at ASU; Marietta Naptsok, Dean of the International Faculty at ASU; and other distinguished guests.

The event featured over 40 speakers representing Russia, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Chad, Jordan, Egypt, Nigeria, India, Guinea-Bissau, and China. The roster included leading philologists, teachers of Russian as a Foreign Language, as well as graduate and undergraduate students.

Discussions encompassed a broad spectrum of topics, including linguistic and didactic barriers, psychological aspects of mastering foreign phraseology, and cross-cultural comparisons of set expressions in Russian, Adyghe, Arabic, Turkish, Portuguese, and other languages. Special emphasis was placed on visualization techniques, working with proverbs and sayings, and the utilization of interactive platforms for teaching phraseological units.

The event schedule comprised 10-minute presentations followed by 5-minute question-and-answer sessions. The roundtable was organized by Associate Professor Mariet Naskurova of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language.
