Rector of Adyghe State University Daud Mamiy conducted his annual  meeting with students in the concert hall of Adyghe State University. The event began with a video presentation commemorating the university's 85th anniversary and highlighting its key achievements. In his address, the rector provided a summary of the university's progress and shared his plans for the future.

Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Social Affairs Rustam Shkhachemukov and Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation Azamat Pseush also participated in the dialogue with students.

Education and International CooperationDuring the meeting, issues related to enhancing the educational process amidst changes in the country's higher education system were discussed. The rector recalled that the Russian Federation is gradually moving away from the Bologna system, and several universities are already transitioning to updated educational standards. Adyghe State University has not yet participated in the pilot project; however, the transition to the new system is anticipated in the near future. In this context, Daud Kazbekovich explained the features of the revised five-year educational model, which allows for more in-depth training in specialized subjects by increasing the number of class hours. He also noted that student enrollment for the upcoming academic year will, for now, be based on existing educational programs.Special emphasis was placed on the development of international cooperation. Students expressed interest in interuniversity communication and academic mobility programs. Daud Kazbekovich encouraged them to initiate specific projects and assured them of his readiness to support promising ideas.Development of Infrastructure and Creation of a Comfortable EnvironmentDaud Mamiy provided an update to students regarding the progress of renovations to the university's main building and dormitories. He noted that renovations to the façade, roof, and faculty spaces are proceeding in accordance with the approved plans. In response to students' requests to include specific classrooms in the renovation schedule, the rector assured that this task has already been prioritized for the future, and the university is systematically advancing toward comprehensive infrastructure renovation.During the meeting, the issue of establishing a coworking space in the main building was raised. Daud Kazbekovich explained that the project had been delayed due to the building's heavy usage; however, a suitable location has already been selected, and preparations for the open space are underway. He also mentioned that a coworking space currently operates in the building on Zhukovsky Street, and the library is equipped with modern workspaces. Students proposed extending the library's operating hours into the evenings and on weekends, a suggestion that the rector agreed to consider.Digitalization and employment

Vice Rector for Digital Transformation Azamat Pseush answered questions regarding the development of the student personal account. Students proposed expanding the account's functionality with a section featuring job openings and internships from the university's partner organizations. Azamat Gissovich informed that work in this direction is already underway: plans are underway to establish a three-way interaction between the student, university, and employer, with the ability to promptly provide feedback.

Additionally, the integration of scholarship information into the personal account is being explored. This will allow students to receive timely information about their scholarship awards and prepare the necessary documents in advance.

Support for creative initiatives

A representative of the "Prostranstvo" theater studio approached the rector with a proposal to renovate the allocated space and organize a student theater festival. Daud Kazbekovich supported the initiative, noting the potential for financial support through the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education to implement the project.

During the meeting, invitations were extended to the university's major competitions. The Students' and Graduate Students' Union invited the rector to the 15th anniversary "Mr. ASU" competition, scheduled for May 13, and the Primary Students' Trade Union invited the rector to the "Miss ASU" competition, scheduled for May 20.

Grant support for student projects

Daria Korotkova, Chair of the ASU Students' and Graduate Students' Union, expressed her gratitude to the rector for the opportunity to participate in last year's "Student for ASU" grant competition. Thanks to the funding received, students were able to thoroughly prepare for the "Mr. ASU" contest and carry out cosmetic renovations to the university’s premises, significantly enhancing the campus environment.

Daud Kazbekovich reaffirmed that support for student initiatives through grants will continue this year, enabling the implementation of new projects aimed at enriching student life and fostering a vibrant university community.

At the close of the meeting, Daud Kazbekovich thanked the students for their activism, dedication, and insightful questions. He emphasized his openness to new ideas and initiatives and wished everyone continued success. The meeting concluded, as customary, with a mutual agreement to reconvene next year.
