The project "Music of the Mathematical Park" featured for the first time the group "NABOKOV BAND", created by the famous saxophonist Makar Nabokov. Guests of the evening were greeted by live music in the open air and a modern interpretation of famous standards of jazz and popular compositions.
New guests of the project "Music of the Mathematical Park" are young promising artists who create their musical masterpieces using saxophone, guitars, drums and keyboards. "NABOKOV BAND" is also known for its cover versions. The head of the creative team Makar Nabokov is a soloist of the Krasnodar Philharmonic and a professional saxophonist. He collaborates with many teams, orchestras and musicians of the "Adagio" team, Big Band of Georgy Garanyan.
The project "Music of the Mathematical Park" aims to change the usual stereotypes about classical compositions and mathematics. Exact science, which studies the properties and relationships of numbers, space, forms and structures, is an integral part of understanding music. Mathematics and jazz are connected, and mathematics can influence the creation of musical compositions, while jazz, in turn, uses mathematical principles and methods. This connection was perfectly demonstrated in their performance by the group "NABOKOV BAND".
The performance of the creative group "NABOKOV BAND" was supposed to take place on May 30, but it was postponed due to rain.
- The last song is dedicated to the fact that we did not gather on May 30, because of the rain, and today we are also playing in the rain. We must finish our concert with a song about the rain, - noted the vocalist of the group Vladimir Nikolaenko.
The group finished the concert with the song "Summer Rain". The atmosphere of jazz romance reigned in the mathematical park. Mathematics and jazz merged into one, giving people unforgettable emotions and impressions.
- You know, I have been attending events in the mathematical park many times, but today there was something extraordinary. And the rain, and the pleasant jazz music, people dancing despite the bad weather, everyone having fun. I am very pleased and I am sure that the other guests are also impressed, as I am, - noted the concert guest Victoria Duplinskaya .
The author of the idea of “Music of Mathematical Steam”, the rector of the Adyghe State University, Daud Mamiy, also shared his impressions of the concert.
"Music of the Mathematical Park" is a joint educational project of the Caucasian Mathematical Center of ASU, the Republican Natural Science and Mathematics School and the Polaris-Adygea Educational Center. The idea was implemented by REMSh together with the laboratory of popularization and propaganda of mathematics of the Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. For more than 6 years, the project has been delighting listeners with high-quality music of different genres on a regular basis.
The celebration turned out to be cozy and very soulful. The promising young Russian group showed that jazz can sound different and for everyone in their own way.
