Elena Abakumova's "Heirs of Traditions" Exhibition Celebrates the 85th Anniversary of Adyghe State University

Culture
In honor of the significant event - the 85th anniversary of the Adyghe State University - a personal exhibition of the head of the Department of Fine Arts and Design of the Institute of Arts of ASU, Honored Artist of the Republic of Adygea  Elena Abakumova "Heirs of Traditions" was opened in the foyer of the assembly hall of the main building.

The exposition became a creative gift of the artist to her native university. The central place in it is occupied by the triptych "Heirs of Traditions", dedicated to the bright Adyghe holidays - pumpkin, cheese and pear. This work is deeply symbolic: through the images of children, it conveys the inseparable connection of generations and the continuity of cultural values of the Adyghe people, which is so important in the era of globalization, when mass culture blurs the identity of the younger generation.

The work of Elena Abakumova is a deep study of the role of decorative and applied art as a powerful tool for interethnic dialogue. Through the semiotics of folk art, the artist reveals universal values: love for one's native land, historical memory, respect for elders and care for the future. Her works, made in complex techniques of hand weaving (tapestry) and felting, become a bridge between the past, present and future, forming an emotional and value-based attitude to the heritage of ancestors.

In addition to the key triptych nominated for the State Prize of the Republic of Adygea in the field of art, the exhibition also presents other significant works by the master: "Mezytkh. Melodies of Peace", "The Excellent Horse Bechkan", "The Promised Land", "Legends of Rufabgo", "At the Source", "Artifacts of History" and "Adyghe Ornament". They immerse the viewer in the atmosphere of traditional culture, revealing its beauty and wisdom.

Elena Abakumova is not only a talented artist, but also an active cultural figure, the chairperson of the Adyghe Republican branch of the All-Russian Public Organization "Union of Artists of Russia", the holder of the RF badge "For Achievements in Culture", the Gold and Silver Medals of the Union of Artists of Russia, the winner of prestigious competitions. Her multifaceted activities - teaching, scientific, creative and social - serve as a shining example for students and colleagues.

Representatives of the scientific community, teachers, students of ASU, the public and the media attended the opening of the exhibition. The University invites all students, employees and guests to visit the exhibition "Heirs of Traditions" in the exhibition hall of Adyghe State University.
