Elena Malysheva , Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor at ASU, Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Scientific Council on Military History, and Lecturer at the Knowledge Society, delivered a lecture on the role of consolidation in Russian society in overcoming key historical challenges for participants in a professional development course for state and municipal employees of Adygea.

She guided the audience through key moments in Russian history—from overcoming the Time of Troubles to modern victories—emphasizing that it was the ability to act together in times of crisis that has shaped the unique resilience of the Russian state over the centuries.

"Russia has repeatedly faced periods of turmoil and trials, and always, always, it has risen like the phoenix, reaching heights that others could not, considered unattainable, but for our country, on the contrary, have become a new springboard, a new historical milestone for a further, powerful leap forward," said Vladimir Putin during his inauguration ceremony as President of Russia.

The Tatar-Mongol invasion, the Polish intervention, the Great Patriotic War – the country not only successfully overcame these difficult trials, but also continued to develop, turning the crisis into a springboard for a leap forward.

Using historical examples, the lecturer demonstrated how successfully overcoming historical challenges became possible only when the entire society united around a single mobilizing idea, whether it was the fight against internal unrest or external threats, overcoming illiteracy, or confronting epidemics.

"As Russian history teaches us, victories were only achieved when society was united. Shared values and solidarity, love for the Motherland, and a sense of responsibility for its future have always helped us overcome difficulties. It wasn't only statesmen like Alexander Nevsky who inspired the people to unite and rally. Ordinary citizens like Kuzma Minin also inspired them to unite. And today, as before, challenges demand internal unity from us," emphasized Elena Malysheva, a lecturer at the Knowledge Society.

She noted that the memory of Victory has become the main supporting symbol and foundation of national consolidation and identity in Russian society today. It's no coincidence that the falsification of the history of the Great Patriotic War is the primary focus of the information war.

Our memory has no statute of limitations; it is one of the cornerstones of modern Russia's national identity. It's no coincidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that all attempts to rewrite history are aimed at undermining Russia. Fostering respect for our past is the most important task facing society today. Only by preserving the continuity of generations can we ensure the country's sustainable development and preserve its rich historical heritage," said Elena Malysheva.

As a reminder, the Knowledge Society launched a series of themed events for Russia Day. Educational lectures and meetings were held across the country to mark the holiday, including at children's health camps. Participants learned about the historical event that formed the basis for Russia Day and the meaning of the Declaration of State Sovereignty. For the Russia Day events, the Knowledge Society prepared thematic materials in its Library of Ready-Made Lectures: "Russia Day , " the "Russia Day" quiz, "Indigenous Minority Peoples of Russia , " and the film lecture "A Brief History of Russian Culture . "
