Pavel Snitko, a master's student at the Institute of Law at Adyghe State University, participated in a volunteer trip to the Donetsk People's Republic for the third time. The initiative is supported by the Russian Orthodox Church and brings together volunteers from across the country.
Along with other participants, Pavel worked on restoring residential buildings damaged during the war. His team's primary task was roof repairs. Other teams also carried out complete reconstructions of residential buildings.
According to Pavel, volunteers respond to requests from local residents who are either unable to leave their destroyed homes or intend to return after being evacuated. Repair materials are purchased by the church and local administration, and volunteers are provided with housing, food, and travel expenses by the support cities.
"You go there, hear people's stories, see how they live, and you come back with a completely different, renewed mind, with different thoughts, because you have no right to complain about anything when you've seen how people live there," Pavel Snitko shared.
