Adyghe State University Accelerates Preparations for the Exciting "Mr. ASU - 2026" Competition, One of the Year’s Most Anticipated Events
Over the years, the project has evolved into a vital element of student life. It not only recognizes excellence but also serves as a catalyst for the development of the university’s creative community. Throughout the preparation process, students step outside their comfort zones, trying their hand at dancing, acting, singing, and organizing competitions. For many, "Mr. ASU" becomes a pivotal moment for personal growth and their first experience on a serious stage.
Participants dedicate several months to intensive preparation, working closely with experienced mentors from the Union of Students and Postgraduates of ASU, in collaboration with the ASU Youth Policy Department.
"The jury evaluates appearance, intelligence, physical fitness, and talent. The organizers also ensure deadlines are met, communication is respectful, and the participants' overall culture is respected—this also counts," explains Daria Korotkova , project manager, chair of the ASU Student Council for Academic Excellence, and specialist in the ASU Youth Policy Department .
The winner is determined not only in the main category, but also in others:
-
Mr. ASU is the overall leader in terms of total points,
-
Vice-Mr. of ASU - second in the number of points,
-
Mr. Talent - the best creative number,
-
Mr. Intelligence is the winner of the correspondence stage (essay writing) and the intellectual quiz on stage,
-
Mr. Charm is the best classic fashion show,
-
Mr. Titan is the best result according to the GTO standards (correspondence stage),
-
Mr. Thematica is the best themed fashion show and dances,
-
Mr. Online is the winner of the online voting on the social networks of the ASU SSiA,
-
Mr. Audience Choice - is chosen by audience vote in the hall,
-
There are also special nominations from youth associations of ASU: Mister SSiA, Mister Trade Union and Mister RSM.
"Mr. AGU" solves several important problems:
Talent Pool. The competition helps identify outstanding students who become the face of the university and represent it at events of various levels, such as "Student Spring," "Miss and Mister Student Russia," and others.
Developing creative potential. Participation in the project allows you to develop a wide range of creative and organizational skills: from acting and audience engagement to screenwriting and staging.
Personal growth. For the participants themselves, this is a school of leadership and communication, where they learn to work in a team, overcome fears, and present themselves well on stage.
The competition theme, as per tradition, is kept secret until the show itself. In previous years, participants have transformed into heroes from Greek mythology, The Witcher, Attack on Titan, and other universes. The first "Mr. AGU" competition took place in 2009, and this year marks the competition's 15th anniversary.
The final will take place on May 13 at the ASU Concert Hall. Follow the competition preparations on the ASU SSiA social media channels .
