Adyghe State University Upgrades Concert Hall Lighting System to Enhance Visual Experience

Technical specialists at the Adyghe State University Cultural Center are currently finalizing the installation of new lighting equipment in the concert hall. The equipment procurement includes both upgrades to the existing system and the addition of new capabilities to enhance performance and versatility.

"Lighting fixtures naturally fade and deteriorate over time. Several units that have been in use for many years are now due for replacement. Additionally, the new equipment will enable us to enhance our event lighting by adding depth and dimension. With this upgraded capacity, we will be able to project images onto the stage, ceiling, and walls of the hall," explained Sergei Zinchenko, a technical specialist at the ASU Cultural Center.

To upgrade the system, the university procured 16 rotating spotlights, six bars for background color fill, four WASH controllable light beams, and a control panel with over 4,000 control channels—eight times more than the previous system. To facilitate the connection of equipment beneath the auditorium and above the ceiling, specialists at the ASU Cultural Center installed approximately 2 kilometers of cabling.

With these enhancements, the university's creative teams and touring artists will have access to a sophisticated lighting system comprising over 50 functional fixtures, leveraging the existing infrastructure. In the coming month, technicians will also develop custom libraries for various lighting scenarios and complete the installation of the technical control island.

As a reminder, the Concert Hall of Adyghe State University is one of the premier venues in the capital of Adygea. It has a seating capacity of 530 and features a stage equipped with a video wall and side LED panels. The venue hosts a diverse range of events, including university functions, citywide festivals, and occasionally, national events. It also hosts commercial concerts performed by Russian pop artists and prominent national creative groups, including symphony orchestras.

During the past two years, while renovations were underway at the National Theater of Adygea and the Nalmes Concert Hall, the ASU stage served as a venue for theatrical and concert performances by local Adygea companies. 

A comprehensive modernization of the Concert Hall of Adyghe State University commenced last year in preparation for the university's 85th anniversary celebrations, funded by federal subsidies. This renovation included a complete overhaul of the stage flooring, enhanced curb appeal, and the replacement of the auditorium seats with new, more comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing options. Additionally, in response to audience feedback, powerful split-system air conditioners were installed to improve comfort.

Work to further enhance the concert venue is ongoing.
