More than 100 people took part in the Geographical Dictation at Adyghe State University.

The Russian Geographical Society's international educational campaign, "Geographical Dictation," received high praise at the federal level. The project was among the winners of the "Knowledge. Award" in the category "For Contribution to Education in the Field of Ecology and Tourism."

At ASU, the Geography Department traditionally organized the dictation venue. Murat Bedanokov, ASU First Vice-Rector , and Andrey Kuzmin, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, delivered welcoming remarks .

Over eleven years, the international project has brought together participants of all ages—from elementary school students to high school students, teachers, and parents. Participants were asked to answer 40 questions of varying difficulty. The first part was based on well-known geographic facts, while the second, consisting of 30 questions, required students to apply imaginative thinking, systems logic, and erudition.

A distinctive feature of the dictation is that the tasks are prepared by geography enthusiasts from across Russia and around the world. Most of the questions were received as part of the "Write Your Question for the Geographical Dictation" competition. This year, the main topics of the dictation were the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, the 180th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society, and the 500th anniversary of the exploration of the Northern Sea Route. Many participants recalled topics they hadn't reviewed in a while.

Teachers plan to use the dictation results to adjust extracurricular activities and prepare for olympiads and competitions. The dictation results will be announced on December 21st on the dictation website.
