Fostering Relationships: Rector of Adyghe State University Hosts Meeting with Student’s Families

As part of the Open Dialogue discussion platform, a meeting was convened between the Rector of Prof. Daud Mamiy University and student families for the first time in the Science and Innovation Park coworking space at ASU. 

Representatives from ten student families attended to discuss various topics with the Rector. Joining the conversation over a cup of tea were the Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Social Issues, Rustam Shkhachemukov, and the Director of the ASU Coordination Center, Oksana Malkhozheva.

The students were informed about the significance of fostering a strong family unit and reinforcing family values. Additionally, the university staff highlighted the various measures available to support families within the university community. Among these initiatives is the opportunity to receive complimentary consultations at the ASU Legal Clinic, located in office 308 of the building on Zhukovsky Street, available on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 15:00 to 18:00. Appointments for these consultations can be made, or individuals may obtain free legal assistance remotely via the chat bot in the Telegram channel @UrAGU_bot.

Furthermore, if needed, families may seek psychological assistance from the Psychological Support Center for AGU Students. This center is situated in office 135 of the university's main building. Appointments can be made by calling 8 (918) 923-29-72 on weekdays. For assistance with social issues, please contact the Department of Social Issues and Careers, located in offices 207 and 208, or reach out via phone at 8 (8772) 59-37-09.

During the meeting, the students expressed their challenges, shared positive experiences regarding the university, and extended their gratitude to the management and faculty of AGU for their understanding and assistance in various matters.

The meeting lasted for 1.5 hours. In a comfortable atmosphere, the rector Prof. Daud Mamiy addressed each participant's questions. The issues raised by the students were duly noted, and the rector has already issued directives for their resolution.

The meeting was organized by the ASU Coordination Center for the Development of Youth Civic Engagement, the Prevention of Interethnic Conflicts, Countering the Ideology of Terrorism, and the Prevention of Extremism. These meetings are intended to be conducted annually.
