The International Day of Francophonie was held at the Adyghe State University

The organizer of the thematic week is the Department of French Philology of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of ASU. Francophonie Day is celebrated by people who not only speak French, but are also its true fans.

The program of the Week included dictation, discussion of materials about the culture and language of French-speaking peoples, as well as webinars and master classes. Students of the second and third courses of the Foreign Languages Faculty have become active participants. They have prepared projects and reports about the French culture and language.

One of the organizers of the event, Associate Professor of the Department of French Philology Elena Bogdanova noted: "During the presentation, the speakers read and translated the text in French about the peculiarities of the language. The reports’ themes have been about the history of the creation of Francophonie and the role of the international organization of Francophonie in the dialogue of cultures."

Francophonie Day has been held to create an interactive intellectual and creative space for students learning French, as well as to support the multicultural education of young people.

One of the organizing committee representatives said: "More than one hundred million people have been learning the Moliere language. Voltaire, Denis Diderot, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Honore de Balzac and Francois Rabelais used to speak and write in this language. Many cultural figures have influenced the development of literature and music. It is useful for our students to broaden their horizons”.
