Folk Dance Ensemble "Nart" of Adyghe State University celebrated its 35th anniversary

On November 24th the concert in honor of the 35th anniversary of "Nart" Folk Dance Ensemble took place at Adyghe State University.

The Acting Minister of Education of the Republic of Adygea Evgeny Lebedev, the first Vice-Rector of the ASU Mikhail Silantyev and the Director of the Research Institute of Complex Problems of the ASU Rashid Khunagov made welcome speeches.

Kazbek Shaguch, a member of the first group, dancer, choreographer, honoured worker of culture of the Republic of Adygea, art director of the ensemble "Nart" was awarded the letter with thanks from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Adygea. The letter of thanks was presented by Svetlana Kushu, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Adygea.

The concert was attended by members of the ensemble from all editions and generations. Among the former soloists of the ensemble were also those who in future connected their lives with the university - Ruslan Akhtaov (presently director of the Institute of Physical Education and Judo), Aydamir Bguashev (director of the Maykop College of Humanities and Technology of ASU), Zarema Khachmakhova (now Tseeva, associate professor of the Department of History and Culture of Adyg), Fatima Tesheva (now Hatit, associate professor of Social Pedagogy).

Anzor Khusinov and Azamat Tsavkilov, soloists of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University's 'Amiks' Song Theatre, and the 'Abreki' Adyghe Dance Ensemble were special guests of the evening.

The audience saw a theatre programme, the most outstanding numbers from the ensemble's repertoire, plunging them into the atmosphere of Adyghe culture, learnt the history of its formation, supplemented by unique archive photographs and videos - from the very first international trip to the Turkish town of Samsun to being awarded the honorary title "Legend of Student Spring" and performing on the stage of the Grand Kremlin Palace.

The concert ended with thunderous and ceaseless applause and Adyghe Dance, which everyone could take part in.
