The game took place in the Science and Innovation Park of ASU and gathered about 30 pensioners. For about two hours, the guests, divided into teams, played a quiz, did a special adapted exercise "Health at your fingertips" and chatted over a cup of tea.
According to the organizers, the project provides senior citizens with the opportunity to actively and creatively spend their time, which will help prevent cognitive impairment, improve their quality of life, increase their self-esteem and social activity. As noted in studies, people over 60 experience not only physical health problems, but also psychological problems, since by this time they lose their usual social connections, which is why they feel lonely, unhappy, unsure of their abilities and the future. In many ways, the inclusion of senior citizens in various types of intellectual and creative activities allows us to solve these problems.
Intellectual and creative activities are developed specifically for older people, taking into account their age characteristics. Not only teachers of the Department of Social Work and Tourism of the Adyghe State University participate in the preparation of the program, but also student volunteers of the Faculty of Social Technologies and Tourism of ASU, who in the future will form a personnel reserve of specialists in the social sphere of Adygea. The project was first held last year with funds from the republican grant for the development of civil society. Within its framework, 8 game meetings were held.
- After the grant ended, we received many positive reviews and requests to continue the project, because during the implementation, each senior citizen understands the value of gaining new knowledge and such communication, such an amazing experience of interaction with peers and the younger generation. We simply could not ignore their wishes and decided to continue this project with a new season, although already outside the grant support, - said Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work and Tourism of ASU, member of the project team Irina Tausova .

This year, the authorities and social organizations of Adygea, within the framework of the regional project "Older Generation" of the new national project "Family", are faced with the task of increasing the period of active longevity of the region's residents. To do this, it will be necessary to involve 27% of the number of residents of Adygea over the working age in systematic physical education and sports, as well as in health and cultural and leisure activities, that is, about 30 thousand people. The project "Key to Longevity" helps to get closer to this indicator.
